lthough
it's obvious now, I was surprised to learn from an incident
with my daughter many years ago that using the words "I
love you" to say I love you isn't always enough. After
one particularly pleasant day, as I tucked her in at night
I said how much I had "enjoyed" her that day. It was like
flipping a light switch inside her. For many days afterwards
she would ask me, "Are you enjoying me?" (Fortunately
I could usually answer yes!) That clued me into the
fact that we often have to come up with different ways
to reinforce love and self-esteem beyond the obvious.
That is how I came to write the following titles. Hopefully
each book will add to the repertoire of the reader. I
know you'll find things in these books that you already
do. But you will also find many new and fun ideas to share
with those you care about. ------Vicki
